For Innovative Learners 12yrs+

Our workshops are as unique as our learners.

Join us TWICE a week for FIVE weeks in our half day wood & boat workshops. Unlike traditional workshops, one-size does NOT fit all.  We meet each learner right where they are at, let them proceed at their own pace and work on their individual project in a community of like-minded individuals. Snack & social time are built in so you have time to make friends and get to know your bench buddy.

Orientation Workshop

Our Workshop learners start off with binding their own project book and completing an introduction to shop and tool safety. Over the 5 weeks learners will step into the world of Sloyd Woodworking as they work through beginning woodworking exercises and models designed by Sloyd & Croft. In addition, those in the workshop will join in with our full time and home study support learners in the current outdoor big build project, complete exercises in mechanical drawing at the Art Bar. Follow On Workshop

Returning workshop learners will pick up where they left off. After a  quick review on shop and tool safety, and learners will resume their work by moving on to the next Sloyd wood model in the series.  In addition, returning workshop  learners  will work with a mentor to select an additional project such as a toolbox, a hand made tool or a model boat to complete during their five week session. Projects are selected with the mentor and are based on both the students skill and interest.

Next workshop begins  JANUARY 27th.

Each summer we have a few slots open for summer guest to join us. Come for the week or the whole summer.  Learners enjoy time in the shop, time on the river, and time in the pool along with special projects and  guest instructors. Each week is a Dream Week as learners together dream up the adventures and theme for the week.
