In an effort to create a safe space for our staff and guest both now and in the future, we have implemented multiple measures to prevent any disruptions in our workshops and classes. Let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Things are just dirtier out here so we encourage hand-washing ALL the time -after digging in the dirt, staining or painting your work, or handling the critters. So please wash up, and wash up often!
Our classes and groups have always been small, and for right now they are even smaller, with no more than FOUR guests per host to ensure the one-on-one service & hospitality you deserve. We ask that you wear your mask and keep 6 ft apart for your safety and our hosts'.
We make a lot of sawdust, plus out here there are lots of trees and fur to boot! While masks are a safety staple to protect the lungs and health of novice and expert woodworkers, they also have additional benefits reducing allergen exposure from being outdoors & COVID exposure. Please bring & wear your mask on ALL covered areas & when social distancing isn't possible.
Eye and face protection from dust and flying particles is a priority in the shop. Various face shields and safety goggles are available for use while in the shop, and on the grounds.
We clean and disinfect all equipment after each use throughout our workshops, and we do a deep clean after you head home. Any object that can be sanitized, is, and our organic items such as stumps, hay bales, and grass patches get a 48hr rest in the sun between uses.
Our workshops and courses are in open outdoor spaces, on covered porches or decks, or in our well-ventilated barn as appropriate for the project, the class, and the current COVID risk.
We ask that you social distance more like our cats, they consider 6ft is close enough. We find it gives you a comfortable space within which to work; it reduces injuries in the shop, reduces catfights & the transmission of COVID as well! Our paths, workspaces, and seating are set up to help you maintain your distance while still participating as part of the group.
We shoot first and ask questions later. Ok-This last one, we didn't do before COVID - that would just be weird. But for now, temperature checks and COVID questionnaires are done each time you come onto the property-Just to keep us all safe.
Sunshine and well-ventilated workspaces are just part of the benefits of being in the country. We now have just brought the sunshine indoors! Our outdoor spaces benefit from fresh air and sunshine for the natural sanitizing of organic materials. In addition to wiping down our tools and equipment, we now also employ UV lighting with ozone to disinfect our indoor workspaces and equipment.
